Website redesign and WordPress maintenance package

Suomen Sahayrittäjät ry is an association of small sawmills and planing mills in Finland. Founded in 1946, the organization brings its members together and serves as an information hub for both members and key stakeholders.

The old site needed clarity and functionality

The association’s previous website had reached the end of its lifecycle both technically and visually. Alongside switching publishing platforms, the goal was to refresh the look and improve usability.

Content updates were needed, while still respecting the existing structure. One major change was renaming the “Members” page to “Services” and improving the search functionality to better serve both members and external visitors.

A WordPress redesign built around the users

We redesigned Suomen Sahayrittäjät ry’s website on WordPress, using the Gutenberg editor for smooth content management.

The refreshed visual design was created according to the client’s wishes, with a focus on the user base – many of whom were already familiar with the old version. We also clarified the site’s navigation to make relevant content easier to find. The new “Services” page was built with a custom search function tailored to the client’s needs.

The project also included Hurja’s WordPress maintenance package, which covers system and plugin updates as well as ongoing customer support.

Fresher look, better usability and happy visitors

The new site is clean, modern and clearly reflects the identity of Suomen Sahayrittäjät ry. It’s also easy to manage from the admin side.

Structurally, the site remains familiar to returning visitors, but with meaningful improvements – just as the client hoped. The new “Services” page now makes it easier to find relevant member companies and industry services.

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive: users love the new design and the functionality of the Services page.

The client also appreciated the remote onboarding and training session we provided, which was recorded for future use.
