Accessibility audit
An accessibility audit gives you a clear picture of where your digital service stands today and shows, in plain language, how to raise it to the next level.

The digital services act supports equality
Accessible online services benefit everyone, so meeting the requirements is always worthwhile—even when the law does not demand it.
Finland’s Digital Services Act obliges authorities, public-law entities, some NGOs, and certain private providers to ensure that their digital services—such as websites and mobile apps—meet accessibility standards.
Accessibility guarantees that services work on different devices and for different users. It promotes equality, offers a pleasant user experience for all, and can boost visibility and reach.
Accessibility audit sections
Accessible digital services are easy to use, clear, and compatible with screen readers. In an accessibility audit we determine how well your site currently meets WCAG 2.2 level A and AA criteria—or, if you wish, we can extend the audit to level AAA.
The Digital Services Act and the EU Accessibility Directive also require every covered organisation to carry out an accessibility evaluation and publish an accessibility statement for each service. We can prepare this for you.
We have strong expertise in both the technical and content aspects of accessibility and in the practical application of legal requirements. Our audit is divided into three parts:
Ease of use and clarity of the interface
- The colour palette, contrast, and text size are suitable for diverse user groups.
- Navigation is straightforward, and content can be browsed using either a keyboard or a pointing device.
Technical implementation of the service
- Functionality works for different users and device
- Links, forms, and documents are accessible
Comprehensibility of the content
- The website’s content is clear and easy to understand
- The content can be read using various assistive reading devices
“Everything went extremely smoothly; the reporting and reports were excellent. We are not accessibility experts ourselves, so a third-party review of our new website was a vital quality-assurance step. We gained a lot of knowledge about accessibility and its evaluation. The project was very straightforward—no worries about joining one like this.”

Reporting and accessibility statement
The audit results give you a thorough overview of where accessibility needs improvement and clear recommendations for fixing it. After the audit you can implement the actions with your own developer or let our professionals handle them.
We will also draft the legally required accessibility statement for publication on your service. The statement describes your service’s accessibility status, any exceptions, and how users can give feedback.
We review the audit results with you personally and provide all documentation. Afterward, we can also help you comply with accessibility regulations.
Accessibility audit price
Our accessibility audits start at €2,500 (excl. VAT). The final price depends on the size of your site. Any post-audit optimisation is priced according to its scope and tasks.
What are the WCAG criteria?
WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) are international standards that define how to make web content accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. The criteria are split into three levels—A, AA, and AAA—the last being the strictest.
Hurja’s accessibility audit includes comprehensive testing to determine how well your site currently meets WCAG 2.2 level A and AA. We can extend the audit to level AAA.
We carry out a comprehensive accessibility audit
WCAG guidelines, developed by the W3C, ensure that technical solutions and features follow best practices for accessibility.
Our audit always includes both automated and manual testing to create as complete a picture as possible.
In manual testing, our accessibility specialists systematically review views and criteria, assessing whether each accessibility factor is adequate or lacking—something automated tools cannot fully do.
Accessibility benefits us all

Accessibility criteria can seem complex without prior experience, and not every critical factor is covered by the guidelines. That’s why testing and maintaining accessibility is best left to professionals.
We understand the legal requirements and industry best practices—and turn them into your competitive advantage. In-house we have the technical, visual, and content expertise to build striking, accessible websites and to help existing services meet accessibility standards.
