Kulttuurikumppanit Oy

Kulttuurikumppanit Oy introduced the nationwide 1 % Kulttuurille certification in Finland, encouraging companies to dedicate at least one percent of their annual net profit to supporting Finnish culture. The aim is to make supporting culture easy and rewarding for businesses.
A new operating model needed a reliable website on a tight schedule
Initially, the new operating model had no digital platform where companies could learn about the certification, verify their cultural contributions or find suitable cultural partners. Cultural organisations would also have had to register their interest via email.
The website therefore needed to establish the credibility of the new certification from the very first interaction while providing the foundation for the platform’s core features. The initial version had to be launched within a few months, with the flexibility to expand the platform later with online forms, a partnership directory and services requiring user login.
We built a website and Partnership Bank around the certification
We developed a WordPress website that followed the existing visual identity. A streamlined version of the website was launched first, after which the platform has been expanded in stages with features supporting the certification process.
Companies that have obtained the certification can verify their 1% contribution using an online form and attach the required supporting documents. The information is submitted directly to Kulttuurikumppanit for review, eliminating the need for separate email exchanges.
The Partnership Bank allows companies to browse cultural organisations and filter their search by region and art form to find a suitable partner.
Cultural organisations submit their details through an online form, after which Kulttuurikumppanit reviews the information before publication. The Partnership Bank was designed to be easily expandable, allowing new information and features to be added as the platform grows.
The digital platform enabled the launch of the new operating model
The digital platform brings together the key stages of the certification process in one place. Companies can learn about the certification, apply for it, verify their cultural contributions and find suitable cultural partners through the same platform. The forms, data validation and Partnership Bank create a solution that can be expanded as more companies and cultural organisations join the initiative.
The platform was launched on schedule, and the official launch of the certification attracted media attention and positive feedback. From the outset, the website provided the new operating model with a credible digital foundation for future growth.
Our collaboration extended beyond the digital platform, as Hurja is now also a 1 % Kulttuurille certified company. For a software company driven by developers, the decision was a natural one: creating new digital solutions requires the same creativity and ability to imagine something that does not yet exist as artistic work.
Supporting culture also aligns with Hurja’s long-term commitment to sustainability, which is one of our four core values.
