Yritysrahoitus Lainakone Oy

Lainakone is a digital business financing platform that helps Finnish SMEs find suitable financing solutions by submitting a single application to multiple independent financing providers. The service covers solutions such as business loans, invoice financing, leasing, and working capital financing.
The need to build a reliable financing platform on a tight schedule
Lainakone had a clear business idea that provided the foundation for building the digital platform needed to launch the service. The goal was to bring the service to customers quickly and create a foundation for further business development.
The service needed to provide a credible, easy-to-use, and seamless way to apply for business financing. Business owners seeking financing needed to be able to submit their application, financial information, and required documents smoothly through a single service.
Lainakone’s own team also needed tools for processing applications digitally and systematically. Because the service handles companies’ financial information and other confidential documents, security and a trustworthy user experience were key requirements.
From a workshop to a complete financing platform in just a few months
The collaboration began with service design, which formed the basis for designing and developing Lainakone’s digital service. The overall solution included the visual identity, website, a customized application portal, and an administration interface tailored to Lainakone’s needs.
During the service design phase, the most important features for the initial release were defined. The project then moved quickly from UI/UX design to technical development. The service was designed from the perspectives of both business owners applying for financing and Lainakone’s internal team. Within a few months, the service was ready for customers.
The project began with a service design workshop focused on clarifying Lainakone’s objectives, value proposition, and user journeys. The workshop explored the needs of both business owners seeking financing and Lainakone employees, while defining what needed to happen at each stage of the service.
The workshop also defined the features required for the initial release and identified opportunities for future development, including the use of AI.
Following the workshop, the application portal was designed first, followed by the website. The user journey was built as a seamless experience from discovering the service to submitting a financing application and tracking its progress.
A distinctive visual identity was also created for Lainakone. A modern design language and pastel shades of yellow and orange make the service recognizable and approachable. The same visual identity carries through from the website to the application portal.
The application portal allows business owners to verify their identity using strong electronic identification, complete a financing application, submit the required documents, and track the progress of their application.
An administration interface was built for Lainakone’s team, bringing together application details, attachments, assigned team members, and processing status. Requests for additional information can also be handled through the same service. The solution enables financing applications to be processed digitally and systematically in one place.
The website is designed to make Lainakone’s service easy to understand and guide business owners looking for financing toward the next step.
The content explains how the service works, which financing solutions are available, and what is required to apply. Together, the website and application portal create a continuous customer journey from the first visit to submitting an application.
The service was built using several complementary technologies. WordPress is used for website content management, while the application frontend was developed with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. The technology stack also includes Vite, React Router, TanStack Query, and Zod.
The backend was built with Node.js, Express, and TypeScript. Supabase, based on managed PostgreSQL, is used as the database. Logging is handled by a custom logger and error monitoring by Sentry. The React-based frontend is served through Cloudflare Workers, while files are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage.
After the platform was launched, the collaboration continued with developing Lainakone’s visibility and customer acquisition. GA4 tracking was implemented to measure marketing performance and website usage, and Google Search advertising was launched to reach businesses actively looking for financing.
The collaboration has therefore continued from service design and development to ongoing improvement, measurement, and customer acquisition support.
Lainakone now has a complete digital platform for growing its business
Within a few months, Lainakone’s business idea had been transformed into a distinctive and fully functional digital financing service.
Its visual identity stands out from the blue tones commonly used in the financial sector, giving the service a fresh and approachable feel. Business owners looking for financing can explore the service, apply for financing, and track the progress of their application through the same platform.
For Lainakone’s own team, the platform brings applications, attachments, and processing stages together in one place. Application progress is easy to track, and the necessary information remains organized throughout the process.
The website, application portal, administration interface, and marketing solutions form a complete digital ecosystem that supports a smooth customer experience and efficient day-to-day work for Lainakone. At the same time, the service provides a strong foundation for continued business development.
